Chocolate Chip Nutella Brownies

Nutella. Chocolate Chips. Brownies. Do I really need to say anything else? Just do yourself (and your family and friends) a favor, and make these.

What You Will Need:

For the Brownies:

  • 1 cup flour

  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3 heaping tablespoons Nutella

  • 6 oz chocolate chips

For the Nutella glaze topping:

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons Nutella

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • A splash or 2 of milk

What To Do:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix vegetable oil and sugar until well blended. Add vanilla, eggs, and Nutella, and mix until just blended.

  4. Add flour mixture to the oil/sugar mixture, and mix until everything comes together. Add chocolate chips, and mix until they are evenly dispersed.

  5. Pour mixture into a greased 9X13 pan.

  6. Scrape the bowl and lick the spatula before putting the dishes in the sink.

  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes (until the sides just start pulling away from the pan).

  8. Once the brownies are cool, it's time to make the topping. Melt butter and Nutella together in the microwave (or on the stovetop if you prefer). Add powdered sugar to the melted butter/Nutella mixture, and mix well. Add a splash of milk and mix well. If the glaze is still too thick, add another splash of milk and mix well.

  9. Use a spoon to drizzle the glaze over the cooled brownies.

  10. Test your self control (i.e., refrigerate the brownies for about an hour to set the glaze topping before slicing and serving.)
