Basic Mom Week in Review - 04/05/15
/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. My 6-year-old leaned over my computer while I was Buzzfeeding, pointed to this ad, and said: "That cloud looks like a bone."
Lesson: I should either be: (a) happy that my 6-year-old is still sweet and innocent, or (b) worried that she already knows genitalia slang.
2. While folding laundry, I realized that the shorts my daughter wore last weekend still had the tag on them.
Lesson: My daughter is almost as unobservant as I am.
3. While making some treats with M&M's, I made the mistake of giving my toddler a couple as I was setting things up. She then proceeded to stand by the table and beg for M&M's.
Then I dropped a plate of completed treats, and while I was distracted cleaning them up, she made herself at home at the dining room table with the remaining M&M's:
Lesson: I'm raising an opportunist.
4. My 6-year-old ran up to me at Claire's to show me these really cool, giant "pens."
Lesson: When I start to feel old, I can console myself with the fact that at least I'm still immature.
5. I joined my friend's March of Dimes team to support her and her amazing son, who was born 4 months early.
If you would like to donate or learn more about what March of Dimes does, please visit my page.
Look at this sweet little trooper:
Lesson: Some babies and parents have to be stronger than others, but we can help by supporting an organization committed to preventing premature birth and helping give babies a healthy start.
