Basic Mom Week in Review - 01/17/16
/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. I told my 2-year-old that she had to put her puzzles away while I did the dishes before we could play a game. A few minutes later she ran into the kitchen and shouted, "I did it!" Then she stood proudly by them to show me her accomplishment:
Lesson: Apparently, my 2-year-old thinks "putting the puzzles away" means shoving them under (or even just near) the entertainment center.
2. I received an email from Pandora informing me that 3 of the 4 "Songs I Love" are from Disney's Descendants.
Lesson: My life is no longer my own. And I'm pretty sure Pandora thinks I'm 9.
3. In an effort to keep her occupied while we waited for our food, I asked my 2-year-old to help me with the word search on the children's menu. I told her we needed to find "ketchup." She very excitedly said, "I found it!"
Lesson: Touche, little one. Touche.
4. I let my 6-year-old do my hair:
Lesson: I won't be booking her services for any major events any time soon.
5. While I was reading an article about how you can tell if your 2-year-old is gifted, my 2-year-old walked over to me, put her hand on my leg, and started chewing on the corner of the kitchen table.
Lesson: I probably didn't need to read that article.
