Basic Mom Week in Review - 03/27/16
/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. While in Frankenmuth, I asked my 2-year-old if she wanted a chocolate fudge sample. Her response:
"No. After dinner, I had ice cream."
Lesson: I think my daughter was momentarily possessed by a reasonable demon with some semblance of self-control (I need to get one of those).
2. Though I swear I followed the directions for hard boiling eggs, part way through coloring Easter eggs, we discovered they were still a bit runny.
Lesson: Martha Stewart would be ashamed, but I guarantee my kids will never forget this Easter, so I am going to consider this egg fiasco a win.
3. This conversation with my 2-year-old while playing with semi-dried-out Play-Doh:
Me: Who put it away like this? This is no good.
2-Year-Old: It's cray-cray.
Lesson: My 2-year-old has been watching too much "Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse" with her big sister.
4. I made cornbread. My husband found a surprise in his.
Lesson: It was not my week for eggs.
5. I caught this sweet moment after seeing the Easter Bunny at the mall:
Lesson: Sisterhood isn't always about biting so hard that you break your sister's skin (though that did happen two days after this).
Happy Easter!
