/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. My 3-year-old went to her first preschool story time at the library. The class project was to make a seascape like the picture on the left. My 3-year-old's project is on the right.
Lesson: My daughter is going to be great at Pinterest fails.
2. This conversation with my 3-year-old after she declined my offer to help pick out my clothes, so I just threw on a comfy dress:
3-Year-Old: Not that dress, Mom.
Me: Why not? What's wrong with this dress?
3-Year-Old: It gives me the creeps.
Lesson: This seemingly inoffensive turquoise jersey dress is, apparently, the stuff of my child's nightmares:
3. My 3-year-old made this profound statement at the mall:
"It smells good in here. Smells like air."
Lesson: My daughter probably doesn't have a future in perfumery.
4. My husband was out of town, so we did some FaceTiming. My 3-year-old decided to spend her time with Dad as a blanket-ghost.
Lesson: I don't think I'll ever have to worry about my daughter being afraid to live her best life.
5. My dad uttered these words:
"I guess I gotta get on Facebook. Is it hard?"
Lesson: I better help him figure it out, because Facebook could use more of this guy:
