Basic Mom Week in Review - 11/15/15
/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. My 6-year-old made a laptop out of Legos.
Lesson: The amount of time my husband and I spend on our laptops may or may not have something to do with the fact that our kid used a creative toy to pretend that she was playing with technology.
2. Every time we told my 2-year-old to eat her asparagus, she laid her head on the table and closed her eyes, making her completely invisible.
Lesson: Good thing her giggling gave her away, otherwise we may not have been able to find her and make her eat her vegetables.
3. My 6-year-old hung up this "Mickey decoration" on the door to the playroom at my parents' house:
Lesson: Mickey doesn't have much fun in the playroom. (Unless he's into that sort of thing.)
4. This conversation with my 2-year-old after agreeing to let her try wearing underpants for the morning:
Me: As soon as you feel like you have to pee or poop, what should you do?
2-year-old: Pee ground!
Lesson: It's all about setting realistic goals.
5. My 6-year-old drew this picture for me. She said it is "Daddy tickling Mommy."
Lesson: My 6-year-old has a great amount of insight into her parents' relationship.
