Basic Mom Week in Review - 04/02/17
/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. I tried to get a nice picture with my daughters and my mother-in-law while we were out for a special Ladies' Day.
Lesson: Well, I don't think I'll be framing either of those for Mother's Day.
2. This conversation at dinner while discussing running:
Me: I wonder how fast Daddy could run a mile?
3-Year-Old: Boys don't run! Girls run!
Lesson: Apparently my daughter doesn't remember when this guy was her hero last summer:
(Though I do appreciate the subtle jab at my husband).
3. My 3-year-old proudly told me that she put the chips away. I found them like this:
Lesson: Some people just want to watch the world burn.
4. My 3-year-old and I were up early together Saturday morning. After we brushed our teeth, I asked if I could have some privacy because I needed to take care of my monthly lady business. She said, "Oh, yeah," and closed the door to the bathroom . . . with her on the inside.
Lesson: Apparently, she thought I wanted privacy from my sleeping husband and daughter.
5. While folding my 8-year-old's laundry, I was surprised by an acorn among her clothes.
Lesson: Coincidence that this happened the same week that the new Game of Thrones trailer dropped? I think not. We should all be preparing for winter.
