Basic Mom Week in Review - 06/21/15
/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. I gave my toddler her first haircut.
Lesson: Bangs are not my forte.
2. This conversation regarding seeing a movie at the library:
6-year-old: Can we bring snacks?
Me: No, it says no food or drinks allowed.
6-year-old: Ugh. It's like an hour movie. I can't do that. I have to eat like every 5 minutes.
Lesson: It brings a tear to my eye watching my daughter turn into me.
3. My dad bought my toddler a bouncy ball while we were out to breakfast. About 5 minutes later, as we were saying our goodbyes in the parking lot, she dropped it, and a truck immediately ran it over.
Lesson: This is why we can't have nice things.
4. My toddler decided that a Thai restaurant was an appropriate place to play hide-and-seek under my skirt.
Lesson: Toddlers have no sense of social decency (granted, it probably doesn't help that when she does things like this, I urge my friend to take a picture). Also, I'd like to thank Old Navy for putting a liner in this skirt.
5. My girls snuggled sweetly at library story time. For like 2 whole minutes.
Lesson: Two minutes of sweet snuggling can erase half an hour of whining and fighting. But don't tell my kids.
Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful dads out there!
