Basic Mom Week in Review - 10/09/16

5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned

1. My baby started preschool!

Lesson: I'm torn between my desire to have another little baby and my desire to stay married to my current husband.

2. This conversation with my 3-year-old about breakfast:

Me: Your sister is having a fruit salad. Would you like one, too?

3-Year-Old: Sure.

Me: Are you actually going to eat it this time?

3-Year-Old: No.

Lesson: Apparently, my 3-year-old just likes the sound of me chopping fruit she won't eat.

3. While my husband was bathing my 3-year-old, he asked my 7-year-old to pick out pajamas for her. My 7-year-old laid out pajamas, as well as this "sweet suprise" (her special body lotion).

Lesson: As long as they aren't in the same room, my daughters can be very sweet to each other.

4. While at the Dollar Tree, my 3-year-old picked up this anthropology sign and begged her Dad and me to buy it for her . . . So she could "hang it in her room."

Lesson: Let's get through preschool first before you start specializing, kid.

5. My 7-year-old was doing an amazing job explaining cells and bones to her sister, and then she got a little mixed up. It went something like this:

"Cells are very tiny, incy, wincy things that you can't event see, and they make up your bones. And you see those, like, purple lines on your wrist? Those are called vines."

Lesson: Perhaps we should go back to the Dollar Tree and see if they have any anatomy signs.
