Basic Mom Week in Review - 01/15/17
/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. I discovered this nice array of mini plastic cups on my 3-year-old's dresser when I went to get something from her drawer.
Lesson: Apparently my kids are already working on the logistics of their Senior Prank.
2. My 7-year-old's 2nd grade class did a project in which they wrote out five New Year's resolutions. My daughter's first two: (1) Eat healthier, and (2) Exercise more.
Lesson: My 7-year-old might actually be 35.
3. While reading Lady Bug Girl and Bingo to my 3-year-old, she pointed to this page and said,
"Hey, that kind of looks like Bob Ross!"
Lesson: Proof that Netflix isn't solely melting my kid's brain - it's also exposing her to the classics. Long live happy trees!
4. This conversation with my 3-year-old after she left her socks on the bathroom floor:
Me (pointing to socks on the floor): What do you think I'm going to say?
3-Year-Old (shrugging shoulders and batting eyes): I love you?
Me: Well, yes, I do love you . . . But, clean up your socks.
Lesson: Being as cute as a cartoon character won't get you out of cleaning up your socks - at least at my house.
5. My 7-year-old put a headband and clip-on earrings on my 3-year-old.
Lesson: Now I know what my 3-year-old would look like as the mother in an early-'90s sitcom.
