Basic Mom Week in Review - 04/30/17
/5 Things That Actually Happened This Week and the Lessons I Learned
1. While at the library, my 3-year-old asked if she could get a book about gymnastics. I pointed her toward the gymnastics section, and she brought this back to me:
Lesson: I already knew she couldn't read, but now I'm also questioning whether my 3-year-old can see.
2. This exchange while I was doing my 3-year-old's hair:
Me: You have really good hair, you know that?
3-Year-Old: Mmhmm. And really good eyes.
Meanwhile, me when someone gives me a compliment:
Lesson: If only we could all have the confidence of a 3-year-old.
3. My 8-year-old made this amazing card for her BFF's Harry Potter-themed birthday party:
Lesson: I kinda want to be my daughter's BFF.
4. My kids started playing this new game called Cuddles in which my 8-year-old ties a leash around my 3-year-old and my 3-year-old pretends to be a dog named Cuddles.
This is how I found "Cuddles" after I asked my 8-year-old to take a break from playing to do her homework:
Lesson: At least my 8-year-old is a responsible pet owner.
5. This week's theme at my daughter's preschool was Pets. For her song project, my 3-year-old told her teacher that she wants a pet dog named Pizza.
Lesson: To be fair, Cuddles was already taken.
